New MEGO-Inspired KISS Action Figures for 2012!

If you're a music action figure collector, you might be excited to know that an action figure company named Figures Toy Company has just released a new series of vintage inspired KISS action figures. The new KISS action figures are stylized after the original KISS action figures manufactured in the 1970s by MEGO Toy Company. You can check out the new figures on our Figures Toy Company KISS action figures page. The vintage inspired KISS action figures have been released as both 8 inch and 12 inch action figures. The original KISS action figures from MEGO were only available in the 12 inch size, but according to Figures Toy Company, "we're making the figures that MEGO should have made!". Within a few months of releasing the new KISS action figures, the entire inventory of 12 inch figures sold out at the manufacturer.

Both the 12 inch and the 8 inch KISS action figures from Figures Toy Company are part of a limited edition of 15,000 figures worldwide. Although 15,000 figures may seem like a lot, this is a fairly limited production run for a mass-produced toy and should work in the favor of kiss action figure collectors worldwide. As of May 2012, over 80% of the 8 inch KISS action figures have been sold by the manufacturer.

The new KISS action figures have the same style as the original 1970s MEGO KISS dolls. Each 8 inch KISS action figure is fully poseable and contains 16 points of articulation. The new KISS action figures also come complete with a 2" x 2" Love Gun record album action figure accessory. The first series of MEGO inspired KISS action figures were released early in 2012, and are based on the appearance of KISS during their 1970s Love Gun tour. In addition to great articulation and a great vintage style, the new MEGO inspired KISS action figures were manufactured with the collector in mind. The clamshell packaging of the KISS Love Gun action figures is a resealable package so the collectors can remove their figures from the packaging and then place them back in the package for storage. This also helps sustain the value of these collectible action figures because all packages can be resealed. According to figures Toy Company, a number of additional series of KISS action figures are in the works. Top 3 Vintage Inspired Band T-Shirts for 2012

Manufacturers of band t-shirts have finally caught on to the fact that vintage band t-shirts are always cool! In 2012, we're seeing a ton of great new vintage (or should I say vintage inspired) band t-shirts hitting the market. Here's a quick rundown of my three favorite t-shirts that replicate original vintage band shirts from the 1970's.

• Vintage Inspired Aerosmith T-Shirt - Let the Music Do the Talking

  This cool Aerosmith t-shirt is one of my favorite new vintage inspired t-shirts for this year. The shirt isn't enzyme washed or treated to give it that crazy soft feel that you get with a truely vintage t-shirt, but it does have a higher thread count that gives it a nice soft feel. I also love the distressed juke box print on the front of the shirt. This print has some serious distressing and it's just cool. The juke box on the front and the "Let the music do the talking" slogan on the shirt really dates the shirt. Pretty sweet!

• Vintage Inspired Thin Lizzy 1979 Tour Band T-Shirt

  Nothing screams "vintage t-shirt" more than heather orange! I just love this one. The color scheme on this vintage Thin Lizzy t-shirt is classic 1970's. When's the last time that orange and brown were cool... together? This particular Thin Lizzy t-shirt features a cool distressed Thin Lizzy logo on the front and also has a cool print on the back with tour dates from Thin Lizzy's 1979 U.S. tour. It's a great reproduction of a vintage Thin Lizzy t-shirt! If the design wasn't enough, Impact Merch did a great job manufacturing this shirt. It's a 30/1 premium t-shirt that gives it a nice soft feel. It feels like a vintage t-shirt that's been washed 100's of times, but it's brand new... nice. No rips, no stains, no wierd 1970s smells... just a cool shirt.

• Vintage Led Zeppelin Tokyo '71 T-Shirt

  When you think of vintage band t-shirts, Led Zeppelin always comes to mind so it only makes sense that a Led Zeppelin t-shirt made our list of cool reproductions of vintage band t-shirts. The Led Zeppelin Tokyo '71 t-shirt is a reproduction of an original vintage Led Zeppelin t-shirt. The manufacturer did everything right with this one! First off, this shirt is a bit unusual with it comes to band t-shirts. We see alot of them around here and more than 95% of all the concert tees that we see are black so it's a bit odd to see a white one, but I love it. This particular vintage inspired Led Zeppelin t-shirt is premium 30/1 t-shirt. If you don't know what that means, be sure to check out our other post about the manufacturing of vintage band t-shirts. Basically, this shirt is super soft and has a cool distressed print. Seems like a winner to me!

Band T-Shirt Manufacturers Finally Churning out Vintage T-Shirts!

Over the years, our company has always been a leader when it comes to the retail sales of music action figures and toys through our website at Rock-n-Roll-Action-Figures.com, but did you know that we sell all kinds of music merchandise? We have been selling licensed band t-shirts for years, but the new shirts that manufacturers are making this year are just plain awesome!

We're seeing more vintage inspired band t-shirts being produced by our t-shirt suppliers than ever before. Although the t-shirts aren't truely vintage band t-shirts, I really think they're even cooler. Why pick up a vinatage band shirt that may have imperfections, stains, or holes, when you can get the same shirts brand new?

Many of the new vintage band t-shirt designs that we are currently carrying include some great details that make them as awesome as the orignals. First off, the process of creating distressed prints on the shirts to give them a vintage look has been perfected by all of the major manufacturers of band t-shirts. To top it off, the t-shirts themselves have also changed (for the better). The new vintage band t-shirts are no longer stiff, rigid, heavy duty t-shirts. Many of the manufacturers that are trying to mimic vintage band t-shirts are now using premium t-shirts for printing. For example, companies like Impact Merchandise and Live Nation Merchandising are printing these vintage syles on 30/1 or higher threadcount t-shirts. A standard t-shirt typically has a 18/1 thread count. That means that there are about 18 threads per inch that make up the t-shirt. A 30/1 t-shirt has 30 threads per inch. In addition, the threads in the t-shirts are not as thick as the threads that make up a normal shirt. This give the 30/1 premium shirts an amazingly soft feel and they also seem to fit a little closer to the body... just like an old vintage tee that's been washed a million times. To get even closer to the real thing, these manufacturers are also using enzyme washing to treat t-shirts. Enzyme washing is a process that uses enzymes to start to break down the cotton fibers in the t-shirts to give them a truely vintage look and feel. How awesome is that! Enzyme washed t-shirts are typically a few dollars more expensive than a standard shirt, but the style and feel of these shirts is amazing!

Most Popular Ramones T-shirt of All Time?

I usually spend my time on this blog telling you about all the great deals for you on band merchandise at Rock-n-Roll-Action-Figures.com, but I was recently doing some Ramones reasearch and came across a great story. Some of the most popular t-shirts that we sell on all of our websites are Ramones t-shirts. We sell a ton of them and I guess it's not that hard to tell why... personally, I'm a huge fan of the Ramones, but I'm also not one of those guys that gets all bent out of shape when some kid that I know has no idea about the Ramones is wearing one of their t-shrits. I guess it's called merchandising for a reason.

People love the Ramones t-shirts because they look cool. The Ramone presidential seal t-shirt is one of the most popular Ramones t-shirts of all time. The reason.... because it looks cool! That particular Ramones logo of the presidential seal is one of the most recoginzable band t-shirt logos of all time. That's why I thought it was pretty awesome when I recently read the history of the Ramones presidential seal logo.

When a band becomes as famous as the Ramones, you see a ton of Ramones merchandise everywhere. It's fun to remind yourself that they were just a bunch of grungy teenagers playing in a club and skipping school just like you were! It's funny to think that an image that has been printed on 1000's of Ramones t-shirts was created by a friend of the band because he let the Ramones do some couch surfing on in his New York apartment. The Ramones presidential seal was created by Arturo Vega, a friend of Joey and Dee Dee Ramone. The original seal that is shown on Ramones t-shirts is an eagle holding a branch from an apple tree and a baseball bat. When asked why the Ramones seal included these items, Vega said it was because the Ramones were the definition of an all American band. If aggression and leather defines an all American rock band, then I guess we agree. The original idea of the eagle in the logo came from a cheap belt buckle that Vega owned. It was a pewter belt buckle that had an eagle in the middle. Who would have thought that a cheap belt buckle could have led to 1000s of Ramones t-shirts? I guess that's rock n roll!
